Don't put your loved ones in an impossible position of trying to guess your health care wishes. Draft your living will and your exact and specific health care wishes will be known by your health care agents, and in turn, followed by any health care providers. In Pennsylvania, a living will can be updated by creating a new document that revokes any previous living wills. You may also destroy the previous living will if you wish.
The new document should be signed and dated by the individual, and it should be witnessed by two adults and notarized for added protection. It is recommended to provide copies of the updated living will to family members (especially your appointed Health Care Agent(s), healthcare providers, and any relevant legal or financial representatives. It is also recommended to review and update your living will periodically to ensure that it reflects the individual's current wishes.
